2005-03 brecon beacons

In March 05, I went for a few days up to the Brecon Beacons, in Wales. I did loads of hardcore bimbling - including one 20 mile jaunt accross Bryn, Waun Rydd, Fan-y-Big, Cribyn, Pen-y-Fan, and Corn Du (and back ;-) )

Fan-y-Big from Cribyn. On the way back I opted to take the other path, which isn't /quite/ as steep ;-) [1194 views] [Current rating 0 : Average]

Fan Fawr - I climbed this after a 14 mile walk accross Corn Du and Pen-y-Fan, with 15 feet visibility in a force 5 or 6 wind and heavy rain. Welsh weather is cool ;-) [1178 views] [Current rating 0 : Average]

Tree horizon. I loved the shapes of these - it was really tricky to get the sky exposed right - this was probably my best attempt. [1272 views] [Current rating 1.50 : Excellent]

Pen-y-Fan from Cribyn. You can see the last of the morning cloud starting to lift from the very top. It was only gone for about an hour before it started raining again. Ah well... [1374 views] [Current rating 1.33 : Good]

Looking towards Allt Ddu and Brecon from the top of Pen-y-Fan. This was after around 10 miles accross upland bogs, along cliff tops, in heavy wind, rain and fog. Just as I was getting to the bottom of Pen-y-Fan the sun came out. Yay! [1430 views] [Current rating 1.33 : Good]

This was my home for a couple of nights, at Casle Farm, Pencelli. It was right next to the river Usk. [1231 views] [Current rating 0 : Average]
